VINCI Facilities cleaned up at the 2022 Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards (26 May) winning the Gold Award in two categories.
The VINCI Clean team won ‘Office Areas between 100,000 and 300,000 square feet’ for its work for the Welsh Government at Cathays Park. Plus, Marianna Pazera, won ‘Cleaning Operative of the Year.’
Created over 30 years ago, the biennial Golden Service Awards is one of the most prestigious events and sought-after accolades in the FM and cleaning industry – with this year representing more poignance and relevance than ever before. The event provides the opportunity for FM companies, contract cleaners and in-house cleaning teams to showcase excellence and set the benchmark for exceptional standards.
Jayne Chinnock, Facilities Manager for the Welsh Government’s Cathays Park offices and VINCI Facilities client, said:
“Achieving a place in the final five for this prestigious award is pretty impressive. It is one of the most contested categories, with submissions from other equally prestigious locations. So, taking the Gold Award was truly an amazing achievement for VINCI!
“The second success of the day; with Marianna receiving the Gold Award for Cleaning Operative of the Year, was fantastic and the icing on the cake! Her success was recognised by a standing ovation from all the FM professionals in the room. Marianna’s personal story is inspirational – despite her extremely challenging circumstances, she remains committed to her role with VINCI Facilities and continues to deliver the highest standard of cleaning services at the Cathays Park office.”
British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) partner with Kimberly-Clark and oversee the judging. The BICS Assessor who visited Cathays Park and interviewed Jayne as part of the formal assessment process, spoke with her after the awards.
“The assessor said that she drove home after her visit to Cathays Park thinking how wonderful it was that there were such fantastic things going on in the sector and how she could not wait to share her findings with her fellow assessors during the final adjudication process. That was lovely to hear and something to take great pride in,” said Jayne Chinnock.
Paul Heyman, VINCI Facilities Sector Director responsible for the Welsh Government contract said,
“To win a Golden Service Award is a huge accolade. It is a brilliant achievement to be recognised for the tremendous work at Cathays Park offices and I am really pleased Marianna won the Gold Award for Cleaning Operative. Both awards are testament to the hard work and commitment of the whole FM team since the contract started in 2016. It’s more than simply hard work: it is a blend of collaboration, management and technical support from our VINCI Clean team, working in partnership with our client. Well done everyone.”
Commenting on the awards, Craig Bowman, General Manager (UK and Ireland), Kimberly-Clark Professional said:
“Congratulations to all the outstanding and worthy winners and also to our well-deserved finalists. This is a year of unrivalled and outstanding standards for the Golden Service Awards. We have seen clear evidence of exceptional achievements in the face of unbelievable pressures and challenges.”
