Fairhurst Buckley hit new heights for NewLife

Members of the Fairhurst Buckley team pulled on their boots at 2am to take the hike up to the top of Snowdon to watch an amazing sunrise before enduring the descent back down, all to raise money for charity, NewLife.

The NewLife Foundation for Disabled Children is Fairhurst Buckley’s chosen charity and one that is very close to the hearts of the company.

Team member Emily’s first son Noah was born 13 days late in 2014 and was starved of oxygen for 41 minutes at birth due to a nasty infection. As a result of this he lived with severe brain damage and had very limited movement. Noah had help with his breathing and was fed through a tube in his tummy as he was never able to feed himself.  Noah was in hospital since he was born and at 17 months old he was able to start spending a few nights at home with the help of overnight carers. A few months later Noah was able to be discharged from hospital and spent his final few months of life at home with live in carers looking after him through the night.

NewLife Foundation for Disabled Children were amazing and kindly provided funding for a specialist rear facing car seat which allowed the freedom to take Noah away from the hospital environment and to spend quality time with his loving family. They also provided a wonderful P-Pod support seat. This seat helped Noah to sit up and allow regular position changes to stop any pressure sores. These pieces of equipment would have cost a huge amount of money and we are still truly grateful NewLife’s generosity.

Emily explains: “Newlife, is very close to my heart. It provided Noah with specialist seating and a car seat which made a huge difference to him.”

There is still time to donate to the Fairhurst Buckley team’s fundraising for NewLife Charity, a charity that supports disabled children.

Any donations would be extremely welcome via their JustGiving page.
