Specialist access equipment supplied by Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), through its constituent company NSS Group, played a key role in the successful broadcast of this year’s London Marathon.
On Sunday 27 April, NSS Hire supported the event’s media coverage by providing a range of powered access platforms and drones to help capture striking aerial and ground-level footage across the 26.2-mile course. The deployment ensured safe and efficient filming at key locations during one of the world’s most watched sporting events.
The 2025 edition of the marathon made headlines of its own, setting a new Guinness World Record for the highest number of finishers in a marathon. A total of 56,640 participants crossed the finish line, surpassing the previous record set by the New York Marathon in 2023.
Among the standout performances on race day, Ethiopia’s Tigst Assefa won the women’s race in a new world record for a women-only field, while Kenya’s Sebastian Sawe claimed victory in the men’s event.
NSS Hire—part of PTSG’s Building Access Specialists division—provides equipment such as cherry pickers, scissor lifts, and cage winches to a wide range of sectors. The business has supported a number of high-profile national events, including Glastonbury, The Boat Race, The Grand National and Royal Ascot.
With its experience in safely supporting complex logistical operations, NSS Hire continues to be a trusted partner for delivering technical access solutions on the UK’s biggest stages.
