Nanogreen Sustainable Facilities Management celebrates ten years of Eco-Friendly and Socially Responsible Achievement

Nanogreen Sustainable Facilities Management has commemorated an important milestone – ten years at the forefront of pioneering eco-friendly and socially responsible facilities management.

Originally established in 2014 by Craig Duff as Nanogreen Cleaning, the company has evolved from a quest for work-life balance to a shining example of environmental and social integrity within the corporate sector.

From its inception focusing on domestic carpet cleaning and restoration work following fire and flood damage, Nanogreen has developed into a comprehensive soft facilities management enterprise. Their offerings now include specialised and commercial contract cleaning, washroom hygiene and management services, and both reactive and preventive pest control. This growth mirrors their dedication to sustainability, community impact, and offering employment opportunities to those most distant from the job market.

Marking its tenth anniversary, Nanogreen has repeatedly been acknowledged for its significant contributions to both the business world and local communities. The company’s accolades include nominations for the Southwest Business Awards Employer of The Year and SME of the Year and being honoured as the All-Party Parliamentary Groups Corporate Social Responsibility Champion for the Swindon area. The partnership between Craig Duff and Chris Horgan in 2020 has notably accelerated the company’s progress, boosting its turnover from £120,000 to £850,000 and facilitating expansion into additional regions across the UK.

Nanogreen distinguishes itself with a holistic sustainability approach, concentrating not only on environmental practices but also on the impact on community and society. As a certified UK B Corp, Nanogreen adheres to strict standards of public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit with purpose. Their commitment to sustainability is manifest in their initiatives to adopt electric vehicles and collaborate with Ecologi to minimise their carbon footprint.

In celebration of its ten-year milestone, Nanogreen is organising a special event for its staff and their families, reflecting its community-oriented ethos. This includes an additional day’s holiday for all employees on the 2nd of July 2024, and a family-friendly outdoor party, weather permitting.

Looking ahead, Nanogreen aims to extend its reach into Reading and Bristol, further integrate electric vehicles into its fleet, and develop eco-friendly products and packaging. Their plan to collaborate with the prison service on training and apprenticeships underscores their continuous commitment to providing opportunities for those in need.

Craig Duff, reflecting on the company’s journey, expressed his pride and appreciation for everyone who has contributed to Nanogreen’s success, highlighting the collective effort behind the company’s achievements. Chris Horgan shared this sentiment, celebrating the company’s positive impact on the planet and communities, and looking forward to another decade of meaningful change.

As Nanogreen Sustainable Facilities Management embarks on its next decade, it stands as a testament to the effectiveness of combining commercial success with environmental stewardship and social responsibility, promising to persist in its mission to be a force for good in the soft facilities and cleaning industry.
