Kindred take another step closer to net zero as they announce their new gold certification.
“We’re delighted to announce that we have achieved our Neutral Carbon Zone (NCZ) Gold Certification and have committed to achieving NCZ Platinum Certification during 2025,” says Kindred CEO, Simon Wrenn.
Measuring & Reporting on our emissions
As part of our Gold Certification, all our organisational and operational emissions have undergone an independent assessment to ISO 14064 standards, covering scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions. This assessment included everything integral to our business such as energy consumption-related emissions, company vehicles, staff commuting, and purchased goods & services. We now have a PPN 06/21 Compliant Carbon Reduction Plan in place where we have set our net zero targets and can monitor our progress annually.
Kindred is now working towards achieving NCZ Platinum Certification. This means we’ll maintain the same rigorous reporting standards we already adhere to but extend them to our entire supply chain enabling further reach and impact.
“Having a comprehensive understanding of our carbon footprint means we can target ways to reduce our emissions at source and make informed purchasing decisions. This puts the control in our hands and is a hugely powerful tool in becoming a more sustainable business,” comments Kindred Marketing & Change Director, Lucy Waller.
Carbon Management Programme
As part of our work with NCZ, we’re also utilising their carbon management programme to analyse the environmental impact of our cleaning services by completing annual Life Cycle Assessments. The programme means we’ll be able to offer a carbon-neutral cleaning service to all clients within three years and provide site-specific carbon footprint reports.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
Our work with NCZ demonstrates our commitment to minimising our environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices throughout our operations. We’re thrilled with the steps we’ve taken so far and look forward to reducing our carbon emissions further as we continually look to improve.
Kindred CEO, Simon Wrenn, commented: “Achieving NCZ Gold Certification was a very significant moment for us. It demonstrates to our clients’ that our sustainability commitments are a core part of our operations, and that we’re on the right path to net zero.”
NCZ CEO, Alan Stenson, remarked: “The importance of sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of business is more important than ever. We are delighted to award Kindred with our Gold Certification for their continued efforts and commitment to sustainability.”
