PTSG to deliver roof safety systems at historic University of St Andrews hall

Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been appointed to carry out specialist Access & Safety works at St Regulus Hall, a residence within the University of St Andrews.

Originally built in 1868 by architect George Rae as a hotel, St Regulus Hall was acquired by the university in the 1950s to help meet the needs of a growing student population. It has since undergone extensive refurbishment and extension.

Founded in 1413, the University of St Andrews is the oldest university in Scotland and the third-oldest in the English-speaking world, behind only Oxford and Cambridge. Today, it is home to students from more than 145 countries, with nearly half of its intake coming from outside the UK.

As part of the project, engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd will install free-standing guardrails to the roof of St Regulus Hall. The installation will provide essential fall protection for operatives carrying out routine external maintenance.

PTSG Access & Safety specialises in the design, installation, and maintenance of fall arrest and restraint systems, ensuring operatives can work safely at height. The team also delivers advanced façade access solutions, including rope access (abseil).

This project continues PTSG’s track record of supporting educational institutions across the UK with specialist services designed to protect both operatives and building assets.
