Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has secured a contract to provide fire safety services at one of Yorkshire’s most prestigious universities.
The institution, a leading public research university, ranks as the tenth-largest in the UK by enrolment. With more than 68,000 undergraduate applications each year, it is also among the most sought-after destinations for higher education in the country.
Under the agreement, engineers from PTSG Fire Solutions Ltd will deliver fire stopping and fire door services across five student accommodation sites.
Working in live student environments presents particular challenges. Project teams must carefully coordinate schedules around term times, exams and key move-in periods to minimise disruption. Access to individual rooms and flats requires collaboration with accommodation managers and clear communication with students.
Each building presents its own requirements, with varying layouts, previous alterations and existing conditions. Ensuring consistent quality and compliance across all sites demands robust project management and resourcing.
