Legrand UK & Ireland has launched a new power and lighting control busbar system, bringing together two of its established brands to deliver a robust solution for power and lighting management.
The power and lighting busbar system combines the expertise of Legrand’s Zucchini and CP Electronics brands to bring a system that can not only distribute power from 25 to 63A but also act as a lighting management BUS. This is achieved thanks to the intuitive addition of two data conductors in the Zucchini LB Plus Data busbar.
These conductors can connect to the CP Electronics fully addressable and networkable lighting control range, which combines advanced technology and modularity with easy-to-use graphical interfaces. Adding this functionality to the busbar makes it possible for buildings to combine robust energy distribution with lighting management, making it the optimum choice for commercial and industrial spaces.
The power and lighting busbar system provides electrical designers the opportunity to easily add lighting control and energy efficient functionality to buildings. When using CP Electronics DALI-2 detectors, they can be simply plugged into the bar to provide digital lighting control, removing the need to run separate DALI cabling and containment, saving both time and money. Other lighting control functionality that can be added includes multi-way lighting control modules (LCMs), which can connect banks of lights and detectors via a single tap-off; presence detectors; area controllers; and plug in switches, operating lights and key switches to activate emergency tests.
Steve Marr, Marketing Director at Legrand UK & Ireland, said: “We expect Legrand’s new power and lighting busbar system will have a big impact for those operating and working in commercial and industrial environments. By taking Zucchini LB Plus Data and combining it with CP Electronics lighting control, not only will buildings be optimised for the best lighting conditions, but they will be able to run more efficiently – a critical consideration as facilities managers continue to look for ways to reduce energy usage in large buildings.
“The launch of this new product is yet another example of how we are bringing together our widespread expertise to deliver solutions to our customers. The knowledge and sector expertise of our team means we are well positioned to develop intuitive solutions and bring them to any market, plus the customer has the benefit of working with a single manufacturer.”
The release of the new system is further evidence of Legrand’s commitment to improve lives by transforming the spaces where people live, work and meet.
