The FM sector paid tribute to the founder and Chairman Emeritus of Sodexo, Pierre Bellon.

Mr Bellon, who was regarded as a visionary entrepreneur and pioneer in the industry, passed away in Paris at the age of 92.

In a week where many returned to the office after Plan B restrictions lifted, Envelo has called for property managers to focus on air quality and creating healthy workplaces.

The healthy space specialists have said that there are products and services available to help managers reduce workplace-related sickness and even improve productivity.


The Lords Committee has criticised the Department for Levelling up over two pieces of building and planning legislation.

In its 26th session, the committee said it is concerned that it did not provide enough information of how the changes to this legislation are expected to operate.


In Business, Mitie continued the growth of it landscaping business with the acquisition of living wall specialist Biotecture.

The acquisition marks the company’s commitment to more building more green spaces and supporting a cleaner, greener Britain through the power of plants.

Wates FM also secured more business this week with a new five year contract with commercial real estate firm JLL.

The contract comprises of both hard FM and M&E services.

PTSG has completed specialist electrical services at King Edward VII hospital in Windsor.

The services includes a lightning protection system which provides valuable protection for many of the hospital’s buildings.


And lastly, as Veganuary ended on the 31st January, caterers across the UK have reported an increased uptake in vegan and vegetarian meals.

Companies such as Sodexo and Levy UK + Ireland have reported that consumers are demanding more of these types of meals and they expect the uptake to increase in the coming months.
