According to the RICS Commercial Property Market Survey for Q1, respondents to the survey saw a notable increase in UK office demand with the net balance. A considerable change in sentiment was also seen in the retail sector, as occupier demand moved into relatively neutral territory, the first time this reading has been neutral or positive since the beginning of 2017.
In other research, and it is reported that the number of employers who report that an increase in homeworking has increased their organisationโs productivity or efficiency has jumped significantly over the last year, according to new research from the CIPD.
When asked in December 2020, a third (33%) of employers said homeworking had increased their organisationโs productivity or efficiency. However, when asked about increased home/hybrid working in October/November 2021, over two-fifths (41%) said these new ways of working had increased this.
Contracts now and Sodexo has been awarded a ยฃ45.3 million contract with the Metropolitan Police to manage its estate and property related services across London.
The seven-year property services integrator contract, with an extension opportunity for a further three years, will see Sodexoโs property professional services team work with the UKโs largest police service to manage its estate. This includes: police stations, New Scotland Yard, communication facilities, residential and training centres as well as air and marine support units that support the broad spectrum of activities performed by the Metropolitan Police.
SPIE UK has been appointed by NHS National Services Scotland to deliver planned and reactive maintenance of mechanical and electrical assets across 9 National Services Scotland (NSS) properties in Glasgow, Scotland.
Under the five-year contract, SPIE UK will be responsible for managing mechanical and electrical assets and will undertake planned and reactive maintenance.
In Catering, Compass Group UK has marked the sixth annual Stop Food Waste Day by rolling out its new enhanced waste recording system across all UK & Ireland sites, further investing in the accurate measurement and reduction of food waste.
The system is Compassโ in-house solution designed to be integrated within its bespoke recipe, menu, nutrition and allergen management programme.
