Churchill Services is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a gold medal by EcoVadis, a global sustainability accreditor.
This is an improvement on the silver that Churchill was awarded last year and puts the business in the top 5% of companies assessed for sustainability.
EcoVadis is an online measuring tool for a company’s sustainability performance. It allows companies to assess the ESG performance of their global suppliers, and considers a range of sustainability issues, which are grouped into four themes: ‘Environment’, ‘Labour & Human Rights’, ‘Ethics’, and ‘Sustainable Procurement’.
The platform is used by more than 90,000 companies across 200 industries in more than 160 countries.
A company must score between 67 and 74 out of 100 to be awarded a gold medal. Churchill consistently performed better than the industry average in all categories, with its environmental score of 80 a particular highlight. Churchill’s performance in this area and in ‘Labour & Human Rights’ was rated as ‘advanced’ in the assessment.
Hannah Dales, group environment manager at Churchill, said: “We are committed to improving our ESG and this award is recognition of the progress we are making. It’s a fantastic achievement for Churchill as the criteria encompasses a wide range of factors.”
