‘Memorandum of Understanding’ will enable collaboration on matters of civil engineering surveying and workplace and facilities management.
The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) has announced plans for closer ties with the UK’s largest body for FM professionals.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been drafted with the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM). The MoU will ‘provide the basis for further consultations, collaboration and information sharing between the two organisations’.
And as a result, it will guide any joint actions in areas of common interest, including training, education, professional services and more.
Mutually beneficial opportunities
CICES CEO Simon Hamlyn explained the reason for the new partnership, saying: ‘This new MoU with the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management establishes a formal relationship between both our organisations.
‘It provides a perfect platform for future collaboration on a range of mutually beneficial opportunities, such as professional development and policy initiatives.’
IWFM Chair Mark Whittaker commented: ‘Understanding and collaboration, between the CICES specialists that survey our civil structures and the IWFM professionals who super-connect those buildings and workplaces in operation, can only be a win in facing major challenges ahead.’
The signed document (and all other currently applicable CICES MoU’s) can be viewed on the institution website.
