In an Aug. 2023 New York Times story, Vijay Sankaran, Chief Technology Officer of Johnson Controls, shared his views on how Generative AI will affect companies and the global economy during this transformative period we are in with technology.
According to Sankaran, the disruption of AI will increase business productivity, but it will take time as there is a lot of trial and error during the development phase. This is not unlike the dot-com bubble in the 1990’s where many companies started out but only a few survived after the technology improved and became more cost-effective.
“We’re going to see a similar gold rush this time,” Sankaran said. “We’ll see lots of learning.”
Sankaran’s knowledge of AI will continue to help Johnson Controls build better solutions to help with internal operations and with partnering with clients.
