Paul Thrupp thanked for 16 years of service to the FWC management committee

Executive Member Paul Thrupp will step down from the Federation of Window Cleaners (FWC) management committee in April 2024, following 16 years of dedicated service.

Paul joined the FWC management committee with a window cleaning background, having been in the industry since 1977.  Co-opted onto the FWC executive management council in 2007,  Paul has been an enthusiastic member throughout his 16 years of loyal and voluntary service, whilst keeping FWC overheads to a minimum.

Paul was the Director of Retail Destinations for OCS Group UK Ltd Destinations & Venues Division and has an active interest in matters of compliance and, in particular, health and safety.

With a great respect for the work of the federation, Paul’s experience within OCS and the wider FM industry added value to the FWC and he was always flying the flag for the federation.

Paul was keenly involved in all the FWC’s activities, which included monthly conference calls and periodic management meetings, supporting the FWC at Cleaning Shows, on the British Cleaning Council (BCC) where Paul became chairman, and via his involvement with the HSE Cleaning Industry Liaison Forum (CILF), which included active discussions on legislative and other health and safety matters that affect the window cleaning industry.

FWC Chairman Andrew Lee said: “I could not praise Paul highly enough for his efforts and commitment to the federation and the window cleaning industry.

“Paul always had the FWC’s back and would jump in and help both myself, the staff at head office and any other committee member with any issue or project we had going. A big thank you Paul, I am sad to see you go, you will be a huge miss.

“The FWC would like to thank Paul wholeheartedly for his support and guidance over the past 16 years, we will certainly miss his enthusiastic commitment and dedication, and we wish him our very best for the future. Best wishes and kind regards from the FWC management committee, Beryl, and staff.”
