Liverpool’s iconic Unity Theatre, a beacon of creativity and community engagement, has recently undergone a significant upgrade to its fire safety system. The theatre, renowned for its groundbreaking productions and social impact, has adopted Hochiki’s cutting-edge FIREscape Nepto intelligent emergency lighting system.
The historic building, once a synagogue, is now a vibrant hub for theatre, workshops, and community events. As such, ensuring the safety of its patrons and staff is paramount. The theatre’s aging emergency lighting system was no longer meeting the stringent safety standards, posing a potential risk.
Recognising the need for a modern and efficient solution, Unity Theatre turned to Hochiki’s FIREscape Nepto system. This advanced system offers a range of benefits, including:

It not only enhances the safety of our building but also reduces our environmental impact and operating costs. The best outcome is that over the year, based on the old system running costs, we predict we’ll be able to save almost 40 times the energy which equates to just less than £900 in savings a year, which we can re-invest into the theatre and community projects.
