PTSG Continues Specialist Safety Works at Culham Science Centre

Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) is continuing to deliver specialist Access & Safety services at the renowned Culham Science Centre in Oxfordshire.

Home to the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), Culham is a national hub for advanced research in fusion energy. The site plays host to world-leading programmes including the MAST Upgrade and the Joint European Torus (JET), as well as STEP – a prototype power plant aiming to bring fusion energy closer to commercial reality.

As part of an ongoing contract, engineers from PTSG Access & Safety Ltd recently completed a comprehensive site survey across multiple rooftop areas at the campus. The team carried out planned preventative maintenance on existing fall arrest systems and safety equipment to ensure ongoing compliance and the highest standards of worker protection.

Following the survey, 14 remedial actions were identified—each of which PTSG has been contracted to complete in the coming weeks.

PTSG has a longstanding relationship with the site, having previously installed a series of external access ladders in December 2023. These works enabled safe roof access for maintenance operatives working on vital infrastructure preservation.

The project reflects PTSG’s ongoing commitment to supporting high-tech environments with industry-leading safety solutions.
