Engineers from JW Gray, part of Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), have been appointed to deliver a tailored lightning protection system for a landmark new development in Woolwich, south-east London.
The works will take place across blocks A–D of London Square’s major new mixed-use scheme, which broke ground last month. Once complete, the ambitious project will deliver 700 new homes—50% of which will be affordable—at the heart of Woolwich’s rapidly transforming town centre.
Set against a backdrop of a £25 million regeneration programme, the development features landscaped public spaces, a new civic square, and a striking 15-storey tower comprising 122 homes for private sale. Additional residential blocks will include five dedicated to affordable housing and three for private sale.
JW Gray’s role will see engineers design and install a full lightning protection system, ensuring the safety of residents and buildings in the event of electrical storms. The system is designed in line with the highest industry standards, providing long-term resilience and compliance.
As the UK’s leading specialist in lightning and surge protection, PTSG offers a full spectrum of services—ranging from testing, inspection and maintenance to bespoke installations. The group’s involvement supports the safe delivery of major developments and critical infrastructure across the UK.
This latest contract reinforces PTSG’s longstanding reputation for providing safety-critical systems that meet the evolving needs of modern, high-density urban environments.
