Peartree Cleaning Services, a leading provider of cleaning services in the UK, has achieved Neutral Carbon Zone (NCZ) Gold Certification for the second year running, demonstrating its continued commitment to sustainability and carbon neutrality.
Neutral Carbon Zone (NCZ) is a unique carbon management and certification platform that monitors, reports on and facilitates the reduction and balancing of emissions throughout the value-chain for companies within the FM sector. As part of the accreditation Peartree had to measure, quantify, and report on their Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions, establish a baseline for emissions reduction targets, and undergo independent verification to ISO standards.
In order to gather accurate emissions data Peartree hosted a workshop for their tier-one suppliers, where they guided them through the complexities of emissions measurement and provided each supplier with a detailed questionnaire designed to collect emissions data, policies, and future plans. This structured approach enabled Peartree to gather the required information for compiling a detailed organisational and operational carbon footprint report. The partnership with NCZ enabled Peartree to set targeted reduction measures, track progress, and further align with SBTi and ISO standards.

At the beginning of the year Peartree launched their latest ESG Report outlining its achievements over the past 12 months, including a 21% reduction in total carbon emissions year-on-year, a 95% Electric Fleet Transition, an 88% reduction in plastic consumption, and the appointment of Georgie Hull as Sustainability Manager.
