Kier has been appointed by Wiltshire Council to provide facilities management services across three key areas – extending the partnership to 18 years.
The new contract runs to 2029 (with an option for a further five years) and extends Kier Places’ partnership with Wiltshire Council to 18 years, since first being appointed to provide facilities management services in 2011.
Following a competitive tender process, Kier was successful in its submission to provide fabric maintenance, fire and security, and drainage services across Wiltshire Council’s commercial buildings as well as schools, libraries, corporate hubs, leisure centres, and depots.
The services will be delivered by Kier Places, a Kier Group business which delivers workplace, building, and residential solutions in places where people live and work across the UK.
The base contract value over five years (annual fixed rates) is £3.4m – not including reactive maintenance costs or project works.
Jamie McKechnie, managing director of Kier Places, said: “We have built an excellent relationship with Wiltshire Council for more than a decade and we look forward to continuing our partnership.
“Wiltshire Council has a diverse property portfolio right across the county. The knowledge we have built across the contract, alongside a talented and committed local team, means we are well placed to support the Council in ensuring its buildings and facilities are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose for the local communities that use them.
“A collaborative approach will continue to be key to our delivery model and we’re proud to be supporting the Council on its long-term estate management goals.”
Cllr Mel Jacob, Deputy Leader of Wiltshire Council and Cabinet Member for Communities, Engagement and Corporate Services, said: “The delivery providers we appoint are extremely important and I am pleased that we have been able to agree a continued partnership with Kier to look after our estate.
“In our experience, they have the highest standards of service delivery which in turn will mean our residents and visitors will enjoy these same high standards in our buildings.”
This contract follows last year’s announcement that Kier Places has secured a new contract with Cambridgeshire County Council to provide facilities management services across its county-wide estate, and Kier Places’ appointment to Pagabo’s new £814m multi-sector Total Facilities Management (TFM) Framework (2025 – 2029) at the beginning of the year.
