Soft-services provider Chequers has secured a significant new partnership with Notting Hill Genesis, one of the UK’s leading housing associations, following a competitive tender process. The four-year contract, with the option of four additional one-year extensions, will see Chequers deliver a comprehensive range of services across more than 500 locations.
Notting Hill Genesis is a not-for-profit organisation with a focus on providing quality homes at below-market rents for people who would otherwise struggle to afford them. It is both a landlord and a developer, with more than 60,000 existing homes and 3,000 more in the pipeline over the next five years.
The dual-service contract covers cleaning, grounds maintenance, window cleaning, and associated services including bulk waste removal, playground inspections, and invasive weed management. More than 35 team members will support the delivery of these services.
In addition to delivering high-quality core services, Chequers will implement a technology platform to enable real-time visibility of site visits and performance metrics, offering the client a transparent and responsive service experience.
Notting Hill Genesis selected Chequers due to its strong quality and pricing submission and specialist expertise in the housing sector. Chequers’ employee ownership model also played a part as it demonstrates a commitment to its staff.
James Glass, director of NHG places at Notting Hill Genesis, said: “Chequers just gets it. They understand the complexities and sensitivities of working in social housing and have a track record that gave us real confidence. This isn’t just about service delivery – it’s about partnership, trust, and creating better environments for our residents. We’re excited to see what we can achieve together.”
Naomi Childe, managing director at Chequers, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Notting Hill Genesis, an organisation that does vital work in communities across London. Housing is in our DNA, and we bring decades of specialist knowledge to this sector. This is more than a contract win for us, it’s a chance to support a mission-driven organisation in making a real difference. We’re excited to get started.”
