Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has completed a specialist electrical services project at Manchester Airport, supporting one of the UK’s largest airport redevelopment programmes.
Located in Ringway, seven miles south-west of Manchester city centre, Manchester Airport is a major international hub. In 2024, it was the third-busiest airport in the UK and 19th-busiest in Europe, serving 30.9 million passengers.
The airport is currently undergoing a significant eight-year transformation programme, which began in 2017. The project will culminate in the closure of Terminal 1 and the expansion of Terminal 2, which will handle around 80% of all passenger traffic once complete.
Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd were responsible for installing structural lightning protection and protective earthing systems, ensuring the safety and resilience of airport infrastructure as part of the wider redevelopment works.
The ongoing modernisation of Manchester Airport represents a major investment in enhancing the passenger experience and strengthening its role as a key global gateway for the North of England.
PTSG said it is proud to have contributed to the project and looks forward to further opportunities to support the airport’s continued evolution.
