PTSG, through its fire solutions business Neo, has secured a renewed contract to deliver fire door inspection services across a leading international university in the North of England, following a fully open and competitive tender process. Neo has provided these services since 2022.
The university operates across multiple campuses in Lancashire and Cumbria and traces its origins to 1828. Ranked among the top 7% of universities worldwide, it was named University of the Year 2023 by the Edufuturists Awards. Its estate includes a diverse mix of historic 19th-century buildings, modern teaching facilities, laboratories and student accommodation.
Under the renewed agreement, Neo will carry out planned fire door inspections in accordance with the SFG20 specification across all campuses. The scope also includes readiness to undertake remedial repairs where required, supporting the university’s ongoing commitment to maintaining compliance and high safety standards.
The programme presents operational challenges, including coordinating inspections across a large, multi-site estate and working within a live academic environment to minimise disruption to teaching, research and student activities.
Neo’s FIRAS- and BM Trada-accredited teams will deliver the programme, combining technical expertise with structured programme management and stakeholder engagement. Digital reporting tools will provide detailed, auditable records of inspection and remedial activity, supporting the university’s “golden thread” of fire safety information.
The contract renewal highlights Neo’s continuity of service and capability in delivering safety-critical fire protection services across complex higher education estates.
