Equans has landed a new contract with Stevenage Borough Council to retrofit hundreds of council properties, using funding from the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund (WH:SHF).
379 homes from across the borough are set to benefit from significant low carbon upgrades, making them warmer and more affordable to heat; after Stevenage Borough Council received more than £3 million towards the project, from Wave 3 of the WH:SHF.
Equans secured the work through competitive tender, via Fusion 21’s Whole House Decarbonisation Framework.
Equans recently started executing retrofit assessments of the properties to determine the full scale of measures required, which will likely include high performance windows and doors, cavity wall insulation, external wall insulation, solar PV, loft insulation, ventilation upgrades, and Air source Heat Pumps.

The retrofit assessments will conclude in the coming weeks, ahead of the measures being implemented; which is expected to take three years to complete.
