Trinity Fire & Security Wins National Award for Innovation

Trinity Fire & Security, a PTSG company that is part of its Fire Solutions Division, has been named a winner at the Tomorrow’s FM Awards 2026. It’s the third time PTSG has claimed this top accolade – recognising its MPF Portable Fire Extinguisher as one of the industry’s most innovative products in 2025.

The Tomorrow’s FM Awards have benchmarked excellence across the FM industry for 14 years, with this year’s shortlist of 50 finalists drawn from an extensive reader evaluation process covering the full scope of the sector. The winner is decided by public vote, making the recognition a genuine reflection of industry confidence in the product.

The MPF, developed over 18 months in partnership with LifeSafe Technologies, is the world’s first single, multi-purpose fluid extinguisher capable of tackling virtually every class of fire from a single unit. Tested to -15°C, certified to BAFE standards, and the only extinguisher of its kind to hold both BSI and NTA approval, it is also backed by Sedex for ethical and social compliance.

In traditional fire safety practice, organisations are required to maintain multiple extinguisher types, each suited to a different class of fire. In an emergency, that creates dangerous confusion. The MPF removes that risk entirely – one unit, one decision.

The award comes at a moment when lithium-ion battery fires are firmly in the national spotlight. Incidents involving lithium-ion products – in vape devices, e-bikes, scooters and vehicles – are increasingly common in workplaces, homes and public spaces, and are notoriously difficult to control with conventional extinguishers. The MPF is specifically designed to address this growing threat, alongside every other class of fire, making it uniquely positioned to meet one of the most pressing fire safety challenges facing facilities managers today.

The product also addresses urgent environmental pressures in the sector. With PFOA foam units now banned and restrictions on PFAS-based foams tightening, the MPF provides a safe, compliant alternative. Replacing multiple extinguishers with a single unit also reduces manufacturing, transport, maintenance and training requirements – cutting both cost and carbon footprint.

Michael Anderton, PTSG’S Divisional Managing Director for Fire Solutions, said: “The Tomorrow’s FM Awards reflect genuine industry recognition and winning for a third time demonstrates the innovation that continues to drive us as an organisation. Lithium-ion battery fires represent a growing and complex challenge for the sector and it’s important that the industry continues to develop solutions that address emerging risks. At PTSG we remain committed to innovation that protects people and property.”
