Systems Hygienics, part of PTSG’s Fire Solutions division, has been awarded a fire damper testing contract covering 3,900 assets across the University of East Anglia estate – alongside a further instruction for kitchen extract cleaning.
The contract, secured through OCS, encompasses fire damper inspection and testing across the university’s main campus and the Quadram Institute – a world-class biomedical research facility located within the UEA campus in Norwich.
With 3,900 assets under scope, the contract represents a significant programme of compliance work and reinforces PTSG Fire Solutions’ capability to deliver large-scale fire safety testing across complex, multi-building estates.
The University of East Anglia is not a new name to Systems Hygienics. Having previously delivered fire damper testing on the same estate, the team is well-versed in the site’s requirements and the return of this contract reflects the strength of the working relationship built during that earlier programme of works.
In addition to the fire damper testing instruction, PTSG has also received an order for kitchen extract cleaning at the site – further extending the division’s scope of service delivery at UEA.
Fire damper testing is a critical element of passive fire protection, ensuring that fire and smoke cannot spread through a building’s ventilation system in the event of an emergency. Regular inspection and certification is a legal requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
