Research into the impact of workplace transformation has revealed that layout can effect productivity. The study, completed by Avison Young, showed that superior amenities, better meeting rooms, storage, provision of equipment and opportunities for learning and mentorship played a huge part in increasing employer satisfaction.

In business, Pareto FM has been awarded a total FM contract with Aspire Via Studios.

The charity, which supports artists across the UK with creative spaces, will receive the full suite of facilities from Pareto and will fund apprenticeships.

Elsewhere and SPIE UK has won a cleanroom design and install contract for Thales Alenia Space. Under the contract, SPIE UK will be responsible for a complete office strip-out before completing the installation works, validation, commissioning and handover of the cleanroom and optical laboratory located in Bristol.


In appointments, Peter Jones has been announced as the new Managing Director of Integral. Peter is a respected industry leader with 30 yearsโ€™ experience within the facilities management, engineering, construction and real estate sectors at both a national and international level. Based in London and Bristol, Peter will oversee Integralโ€™s existing capabilities and its growth strategy with a focus on enhanced digital solutions, energy optimisation and risk-based asset management. 


And finally, thank you to those who visited us at the Workplace Event this week. The event, which was held between Tuesday and Thursday at the NEC, saw tens of thousands of people from fire, security, health and safety and wider facilities management backgrounds meet, network and find out about new innovations.
