Novus has been awarded five healthcare sector contracts and frameworks in the first quarter of the year, as it continues to execute its ambitious five-year growth strategy.
These latest contract and framework successes play an important role in developing Novus’ healthcare division and supporting the strategy to double profits by 2026.
Building upon its longstanding relationship with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Novus has been recently awarded a contract for the refurbishment of the North West Lung Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital. Over a period of 10 weeks, its team will complete a variety of works including the formation of four lung function testing rooms, a sluice area, storage space and all associated mechanical and electrical works.
The works within this programme will take place as it also carries out a full refurbishment of Wythenshawe Hospital’s Cardio Thoracic Department’s operating theatres.
Novus has also won a £456k tender to carry out refurbishment works for the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust – one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in England, serving a regional, national, and international population.
The refurbishments will see Novus carry out works to their existing facilities on the ground floor of the heritage building, making space for the arrival of a new state-of-the-art automatic robot dispensing machine. These works will be carried out in three phases allowing the Trust to continue operating for members of the public.
Alongside these recent healthcare-based contracts, the company has successfully won a place on the coveted RISE framework in six categories. Showcasing its expertise across a range of disciplines, we are now included in this framework for General Construction, Refurbishment, Civil Engineering, Mechanical and Electrical, Facilities Management, and Safety and Compliance.
It has also been awarded a place on the two-year NHS Shared Business Services Hard Facilities framework for 12 lots including Building Fabric Maintenance, Roofing and Guttering Services, General Gas Appliances, and Fire Doors. Furthermore, Novus recently gained a place on the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Estates framework for Lot 2, estimated at a significant value. This framework covers The Royal Hallamshire Hospital, The Northern General Hospital, Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Weston Park Cancer Centre and Jessop Wing Maternity Hospital. The term of the framework will be for a period of three years with the possibility of extending the term for a further period of 12 months.
Commenting on these recent successes within the healthcare sector, Novus Head of Operations, Chris Murphy, said: “We’re delighted to have secured a number of prestigious frameworks and contracts within the first quarter of 2022, and we look forward to working on a range of projects across the country. So many successes within the healthcare sector in such a short space of time is evidence of not only Novus’ dedication to growth as a business, but also our vast knowledge and experience of working in a variety of healthcare environments.”
