Hard service provider Ergro has confirmed it has been awarded a contract to replace chillers for a building located within the London’s famous jewellery quarter, Hatton Garden.
This followed a successful tender that resulted from an initial referral from a consultant, leading to the company preparing to complete a number of works, including:
- Validation of existing chilled water pumps, chiller power supplies and chilled water quality;
- Management of road closure/crane lifts/traffic management;
- Replacement of two roof-mounted Carrier 670kW chillers that will also include new acoustic enclosures;
- Replacement of existing primary and secondary chilled water pumps;
- Replacement of existing degasser and chilled water pressurisation unit;
- Replacement of existing BMS controls;
- Replacement of local isolation valves and components to the chilled water system;
- Replacement of thermal insulation to altered pipework.
Due to the confined nature of the chiller compound area, it has been imperative that for the company to create fully detailed CAD coordination drawings, ensuring that the new chillers and equipment fit within the existing space constraints.
The chillers are serving a live office environment, so the programme of works has been carefully planned to avoid disruption to the cooling within the building during office hours.
The company will start the project in summer and complete within a rigorous, eight-week programme.
