PTSG to put together a solution for Legoland

Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG) has been contracted to deliver specialist electrical services at Legoland in Windsor.

Legoland is a theme park and resort in Windsor, Berkshire, themed around the Lego brand. The park opened on 17 March 1996 and is currently operated by Merlin Entertainments. The park’s attractions consist of a mixture of Lego-themed rides, models, and building workshops targeted at children between three and twelve.

A thrilling new ride, which promises to be the theme park’s fastest yet, is scheduled to open this year. Minifigure Speedway is a duelling rollercoaster which will see “Team Legends” and “Team Allstars” cars race forwards and in reverse against one another to determine who is the winner.

The ride reaches speeds of 56km/h and is inspired by the Speedway circuits. It features state-of-the-art technology and a dynamic dual-track layout, which cost £10m to develop. The attraction is manufactured by Zierer and is currently under construction.

Engineers from PTSG Electrical Services Ltd will install a brand-new lightning protection system which will protect the new attraction and its users in the event of an electrical storm.

PTSG is the UK’s leading provider of lightning and surge protection systems. Its engineers design, install and commission new systems for clients in all sectors. They also carry out mandatory testing and inspection of systems, which is required by law at least every year to ensure they remain safe and fully operational. PTSG’s engineers are highly experienced and qualified to conduct any maintenance work that may be required.
