Premier Technical Services Group has been appointed to design and install a monorail façade access system at Edinburgh’s Port Hamilton Building as part of a major workspace transformation.
The FTSE-listed specialist services provider’s Access & Safety division will support the landmark redevelopment led by developer Drum Property Group, which is reconfiguring the building to create modern, sustainable office space in the capital’s financial district.
The scheme includes a complete internal layout redesign, enhanced public realm, energy-efficient upgrades and improvements to the building’s external envelope – all aimed at setting new workplace wellbeing and low-carbon design standards.
PTSG will provide a permanent access solution enabling safe inspection and maintenance of the building’s façade throughout its operational life.
Design work is now underway and scheduled for completion by end-March 2026. First-fix installation will follow in June 2026, with second-fix and commissioning wrapped up by February 2027.
A team of two to three PTSG operatives will deliver the on-site works, with off-site management providing coordination support aligned to the developer’s wider construction programme.
The Port Hamilton project ranks among Edinburgh’s most significant commercial redevelopments in recent years.
PTSG said the contract reinforces its position as a leading provider of façade access systems on major UK refurbishment and new-build projects.
The group employs over 3,000 people across five specialist divisions – Access & Safety, Electrical Services, Building Access Specialists, Fire Solutions and Water Treatment – serving more than 30,000 customers nationwide.
