Advance Facilities Solutions – staying at the forefront of an evolving sector

Facilities Management is a sector that has seen great changes recently. The workplace has evolved as a concept; it is no longer the accepted norm to travel to an office building for the full working week. Technology has made it possible for people to work more efficiently, keeping close to colleagues and clients via digital meetings and file-sharing platforms.

Advanced building entry systems and touch-free devices are transforming the modern working office, making it a safer environment that advances productivity. The FM sector is both driving change and reacting to customers’ changing requirements.

Advance Facilities Solutions is one company at the forefront of that change. Parent company Advance Facilities Group was formed ten years ago as a specialist drainage contractor, solving its customers’ challenges through the traditional skill sets of its experienced plumbing engineers. Over the last decade, the Group has evolved rapidly to stay at the leading edge of the sector. It now has four independent but complementary business divisions, the largest being Advance Facilities Solutions which has recently rebranded from Advance FM.

Why the change of name and brand? Quite simply, the name Advance FM was too limiting both for the breadth of services it offers – and the way in which they are delivered. It did not cover the huge range of solutions the business could provide.

‘Advance Facilities Solutions’ communicates how the company delivers a complete buildings and premise maintenance service. Its team comprises skilled craftsmen and engineers who are highly experienced in the core skills of carpentry, masonry, mechanical and electrical services, plumbing and roofing. However, the future is fast becoming technology-enabled, and its team offers the latest skills including the Internet of Things, delivering insightful data solutions; secure building entry systems; and drone surveys.

Software is used to track, manage and maintain facilities at buildings. Drones enable engineers to deliver highly detailed surveys far more quickly and at a fraction of the cost of using equipment such as mobile elevating work platforms.

As a result, customers now approach Advance Facilities Solutions for planned preventative maintenance, reactive works or emergency call outs depending on their needs. A site survey, delivered rapidly and at a low cost, may lead to a quotation for a package of remedial work delivered by its engineers.

Furthermore, the company has a nationwide coverage, so its roster of clients is also growing rapidly both in numbers and locations.

Advance Facilities Solutions combines all of its core services into a unified partnership. As a result, the entire product portfolio is more visible, and the quality of services is constantly improving.
