CBI director-general Tony Danker has told the BBC Political Thinking programme that the majority of employers are keen for staff to spend more time at their office.
This is another sign to support the view that attendance numbers are likely to increase further in 2023, following reports of rising numbers throughout last year, although some sectors have seen significantly higher figures than others.
Mr Danker further stated that working processes and schedules had “gone crazy” due to the impact of the Cornavirus pandemic, with many companies continuing to adjust their hybrid working methods.
This is likely to see working patterns discussed for the next few years and Mr Danker said it is unlikely that everyone will return to full time office working “overnight”.
The BBC report referred to a recent LinkedIn study that found a third of UK businesses are planning to reduce their flexible working policies in the months ahead.
Another potential aspect of higher numbers of people attending the workplace could see the reverse of recent reports in declining investment in real estate.
