Bidvest Noonan team at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Dublin, Celebrates Remarkable Milestone of 500,000 Hours Lost Accident Free

Bidvest Noonan, a market-leading provider of facilities services across the UK & Ireland has announced that its facilities team at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, College Park, Dublin, has achieved a remarkable milestone of 500,000+ hours without any injuries or incidents reported on site.

The team, which encompasses 40 colleagues, has established a robust safety culture on site which has meant, as a contractor, Bidvest Noonan hasn’t experienced a lost time accident since the contract mobilised in 2015. The business provides services including GMP / Non GMP cleaning support, Site Based Helpdesk, Mailroom, and Electrical / Mechanical Support on site.

The team at College Park, led by Naomi Vasilca, and supported by Andrew Keogh and Alexander Escalante, credit this achievement to their approach to on-the-job training (OJT) and regular safety communications.

With a specialist GMP trainer on site, all colleagues receive thorough on-the-job training to confidently handle the unique challenges of working with chemicals in GMP areas.

In addition, weekly safety talks and observations are conducted, and a strong culture of open communication has been instilled, encouraging everyone to speak up and share their learnings. The business earmarks this as a key factor in achieving 2900+ days lost accident free.

Speaking on the team’s achievement, Bidvest Noonan CEO for Ireland, Cormac Sheils commented:

“I am immensely proud of our team at Alexion College Park, this is an incredible milestone to reach.  The foundations for this achievement have been built on a real team ethos and support for one another, a clear understanding of the site and our client’s requirements on site.  To achieve this on a pharmaceutical site that’s operations are hugely important and significant to our national infrastructure is significant. It is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of all our colleagues.”

Ronan Murphy, Senior Director of Engineering at Alexion Pharmaceuticals added:

“I am very proud of this team’s achievement. We have built a strong culture of safety here at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. It’s their efforts that help ensure there is no disruption to our operations, which is crucial in a pharmaceutical environment where safety and quality are of utmost importance.
