Ranger Fire and Security Expands UK and Ireland Presence with Three New Acquisitions

Ranger Fire and Security has completed the acquisition of three fire and security businesses as it continues to expand its presence across the UK and Ireland.

The latest additions include Edinburgh based iFire Fire and Security, Galway based Henderson Fire and Safety and Warrington based FireCheck. The deals take Ranger’s total number of acquisitions to 21 since the company launched in early 2024.

The acquisitions form part of Ranger’s wider strategy to build a national fire and security platform by bringing together established regional providers with specialist expertise and strong local reputations.

Expanding regional coverage and specialist capability

iFire Fire and Security is one of Scotland’s established providers of commercial fire and security systems, delivering services including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control solutions.

The business works across commercial and retail environments, supporting customers ranging from office buildings to industrial facilities.

In Ireland, Henderson Fire and Safety provides a broad range of fire protection products and services including fire suppression systems, extinguishers, hose reels and evacuation equipment. The company also delivers training programmes covering fire safety awareness, fire warden training, manual handling and first aid.

Meanwhile, FireCheck strengthens Ranger’s footprint in the North West of England. The Warrington based company specialises in fire extinguishers, fire risk assessments and fire alarm servicing, alongside PAT testing and fire marshal training.

Ranger said the acquisitions will enhance its ability to provide integrated fire and security services across multiple regions while creating greater opportunities for collaboration and cross selling between businesses within the group.

Building a national fire and security platform

Mark Bridges, Chief Executive Officer of Ranger Fire and Security, said the company is continuing to address fragmentation within the sector.

“With our latest acquisitions we have brought together 21 companies under the Ranger umbrella since launch,” he said.

“With companies spanning the breadth and width of the UK and Ireland, we are solving the fragmented nature of the fire and security sector, which has limited many businesses from scaling.”

Bridges said the three businesses bring valuable expertise and established reputations to the wider group.

“iFire, Henderson and FireCheck will be valuable additions to the team and bring their own specialisms to the Group’s offering, having built excellent reputations in their respective areas for high quality, expert services,” he said.

“With our growing footprint across the UK and Ireland, businesses in the Ranger Group are increasingly able to create cross selling opportunities for each other, offering customers a range of services from trusted providers.”

Continued growth backed by Hyperion Equity Partners

Ranger Fire and Security is backed by Hyperion Equity Partners and is pursuing a strategy focused on strategic acquisitions, technology investment and service integration across the fire and security market.

The company aims to position itself as a one stop provider for fire and security services throughout the UK and Ireland.

David Boyle, Managing Director of iFire Fire and Security, said joining Ranger would support future growth while maintaining service quality for customers.

“Our mission has always been to provide customers with a trustworthy and expert service that they can rely on,” he said.

“As part of the Ranger Group, we will continue to deliver this standard of work to our clients, now with the added support of Ranger’s senior leadership team.”

Boyle added that the business is looking forward to working more closely with other companies across the group to expand its customer base throughout Scotland and beyond.
