Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), via constituent company NSS Group, has completed a specialist roof over-cladding project for a leading home improvements and DIY retailer.
With 316 stores across the UK, the customer has a product portfolio comprising home furnishing, lighting, building supplies, plumbing, doors and windows, tools and equipment, hardware equipment, paint, wallpaper and decorating supplies.
Annual energy costs at the retailer’s Leatherhead store were excessive and a significant portion of this was identified as heating costs as a result of poor thermal insulation. Solutions were sought to significantly reduce thermal loss in a cost effective and safe manner with minimal disruption to trading.
PTSG’s Building Access Specialists Ltd proposed an over-cladding solution that was appropriately cost-effective and that incorporated vertical decoration to the main warehouse in order to improve customer perception of the B&Q site. The solution emphasised ongoing safety throughout the project whilst minimising any trading disruption.
PTSG’s engineers installed 3100m² metal roof overclad with Ashgrid bracketry system, 240mm Glass Fibre Insulation and 32/1000 plastisol coated profiled steel roof sheets. Existing rooflights were also overclad.
