Procure Plus launches North East Installation & Repairs Framework with a focus on SMEs and specialist work streams

Procure Plus, a market-leading not-for-profit procurement company is preparing to launch its first regional framework in the North East, designed to deliver essential planned installation and repair works in social housing properties across the North East, Yorkshire, and Humberside.

Procure Plus has deep roots in social housing, with decades of experience working alongside social housing providers. Owned by the very landlords it serves, housing is in its DNA.

The framework has been carefully designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by offering regionalised lots that allow contractors to participate in essential works, strengthening both their businesses and the local economy.

In addition to covering general repair and installation services, the framework also introduces specialist work streams, such as damp and mould remediation and insulation for low-rise properties.

By utilising the framework, social housing providers can benefit from significant cost savings through more efficient procurement processes, enabling them to maximise their budgets for essential housing services.

The framework is divided into 23 lots, with 11 dedicated to the North East, 11 for Yorkshire and Humberside, and one national lot for damp and mould remediation.

As a not-for-profit, any surplus generated is reinvested directly into communities, helping train and develop individuals distanced from the employment market. Over the last five years, Procure Plus has helped more than 2,500 people into work, making a real difference to the communities it serves.

Contractors appointed to the North East Installation & Repairs Framework will be required to align with social value priorities, including creating training and employment opportunities for local residents.

The framework also requires contractors to collaborate closely with suppliers from the Procure Plus goods and materials framework, where landlords procure the materials for the works, using Procure Plus project management software to create a streamlined approach to procurement that benefits all.

This approach ensures that the framework not only delivers essential housing repairs but also contributes to the broader economic and social well-being of the communities it serves.

Sharon Henderson, North East Account Manager at Procure Plus, commented: “We are from and for housing, so understand the challenges social housing providers face and are here to support them, sharing best practice and information at every stage. With our dedication and expertise, we make a real difference to our communities.

“This framework offers a fantastic opportunity for SMEs across the North East to not only improve the quality of local housing but also to grow their businesses through sustainable, long-term contracts.

“Our commitment to social value means this framework will also generate training and employment opportunities for local residents, ensuring that the benefits of this work extend beyond housing improvements and contribute to the long-term prosperity of the communities we work in.”
