PTSG company targets continued audit success at BP Sunbury

Pendrich Height Services (Pendrich), part of Premier Technical Services Group Ltd (PTSG), is currently undergoing an audit while carrying out specialist works at BP Sunbury’s International Centre for Business and Technology (ICBT).

The project involves repainting key roof stanchions – steel tension rods that carry roof loading. Each stanchion holds around 10 tonnes of tension, which the team carefully transfers using lifting equipment to allow safe disconnection from the anchor pad eye. Once released, deteriorated paint is removed and replaced with a fresh protective coating.

BP’s ICBT in Sunbury-on-Thames is home to 3,500 people from more than 55 global business teams, making it one of the most diverse BP sites worldwide, with over 50 nationalities represented and up to 30 languages spoken daily.

Strong audit track record

Pendrich has a strong history of audit success. The company recently passed its IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) 3-Yearly Audit, reaffirming its commitment to the highest standards in rope access safety, training and operational procedures. IRATA accreditation is globally recognised and demands strict compliance with best practices.

The business also passed an Intertek Audit, further highlighting its dedication to quality management, accountability and customer-focused service. Intertek audits are known for their rigorous assessment of compliance and quality assurance systems.

Raising industry standards

These achievements reflect the professionalism and dedication of Pendrich’s team, as well as its culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Pendrich is also one of only a small number of UK companies to hold full membership with both ATLAS – the governing body for Steeplejack and Lightning Protection engineers – and IRATA, the global authority on rope access. This rare dual accreditation reinforces Pendrich’s position as a leading provider of height safety and specialist access solutions.
