A civil engineering company has been named a finalist in a prestigious regional business awards after enjoying a year of significant growth.
Peacock Precision Services, which specialises in surveying and setting out engineering, has been appointed to work on 26 new projects throughout the UK in the past year, leading to the creation of nine new jobs.
As a result of its most successful year to date, the company has been announced as a finalist in the highly coveted SME of the Year category at this year’s in-Cumbria Business Awards.
Kieron Peacock, founder and Managing Director, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the team at Peacock Precision. This recognition is a testament to their hard work, dedication and the high standards we uphold every day.
“It’s been a fantastic year for us, and being named a finalist in the SME of the Year category is a real honour. We’re excited about what the future holds as we continue to grow and take on even more ambitious projects across the UK.”
Established in Carlisle in 2018, Peacock Precision has grown rapidly to become one of the largest surveying and setting out engineering firm operating across the North West.
Under Kieron’s leadership, the business has developed a strong reputation for delivering high-quality services on time and within budget, which has led to its involvement in major construction projects across the UK.
Jobs the company has worked on include the Carlisle Southern Link Road, the M6, A1, Blaydon Bridge and Caldew Bridge, as well as high-profile developments such as Gary Neville’s Salboy tower blocks in Manchester, a major national leisure destination, and digital screen installations at a world-famous Premier League football club.
The team has also carried out GPR surveys for cycleways in Manchester city centre and fitted out retail spaces for Starbucks and River Island nationwide.
To support its expansion, the company is soon to move into its first permanent base in Carlisle, followed by an office presence in Manchester to strengthen its increased demand across the city.
The company was recognised by judges for its commitment to providing career opportunities to young people and those starting their working journeys. In the past 12 months, it has supported several trainees and apprentices through education and into engineering roles.
The in-Cumbria Business Awards celebrate the achievements of businesses of all sectors across the county, recognising outstanding leadership, financial performance, and sustainable growth.
The awards ceremony will take place at The Halston, in Carlisle, on Thursday, November 13.
