Guardian Electrical Compliance, part of PTSG Electrical Services Ltd, has highlighted the strength of its relationship with BAE Systems Marine in Barrow-in-Furness, where the companies have worked together for more than a decade.
The Barrow site is vast, covering more than 300 acres and housing 170 buildings and production halls. Over the years, Guardian has carried out inspection and testing on more than 3,250 distribution boards and produced 930 CAD-format electrical drawings.
In the early stages of the partnership, reports and drawings were delivered in hard copy, with thousands of pages and large-format diagrams stored in binders, alongside digital copies on CD. This has since evolved into a digital-first process, with information now provided through the TraQit platform. Following stringent security approval, TraQit is now used daily by BAE’s engineering, design, health and safety, and technical teams to access compliance data and project information.
Working within such a high-security national defence facility requires significant trust and continuity. Guardian’s engineers, who hold the necessary clearances and in-depth site knowledge, are consistently deployed to ensure familiarity and efficiency in delivering inspection and testing services.
BAE Systems values the partnership for the quality of reporting, technical support, and reliable data management that Guardian provides. By maintaining and updating compliance information through the TraQit support team, Guardian continues to play a key role in keeping the facility safe and compliant.
