Armacell, a global leader in flexible foam for the equipment insulation market and a leading provider of engineered foams, has expanded its sustainability documentation with the publication of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for its ArmaComfort acoustic insulation portfolio.
Issued by the Instytut Techniki Budowlanej (ITB) and published on EcoPlatform, the EPDs provide transparent, verified data on the environmental performance of ArmaComfort products across their entire life cycle.
With this step, Armacell offers one of the most comprehensively EPD-covered acoustic foam insulation portfolios on the market today. The declarations confirm that ArmaComfort products achieve a particularly low carbon footprint compared with alternative foam solutions for the same application scope, supporting more informed material choices in sustainable building design.
EPDs provide independently verified information on the environmental impacts of construction products, from raw material extraction and manufacturing through use and end-of-life. Based on international standards such as ISO 14025 and EN 15804, they are an essential planning tool for architects, engineers and specifiers working on projects targeting green building certifications such as LEED®, BREEAM® or DGNB.
The newly published EPDs cover the ArmaComfort portfolio for noise control in building services, including the multilayer ArmaComfort AB range and ArmaComfort Barrier products. By making this data available via EcoPlatform, Armacell ensures broad accessibility and comparability within digital building planning processes.
“Environmental Product Declarations play a crucial role in enabling transparent, life-cycle-based decision-making in the construction sector,” says Pascal Raphoz, Director Global Acoustics at Armacell. “By providing EPDs for our ArmaComfort portfolio, we support our customers in meeting increasingly stringent sustainability requirements while also demonstrating the low carbon footprint of our acoustic insulation solutions.”
Armacell has been actively involved in EPD development for many years and continues to expand its portfolio of verified environmental data. The new ArmaComfort EPDs underline the company’s commitment to combining acoustic performance, fire safety and sustainability in modern building services applications.
