SAEMA, the UK’s leading training and compliance organisation in the temporary and permanent suspended access industry, launched a new training and testing platform in 2020.
Within the first two years, 500 people have now undertaken its innovative online education programme with a built in, invigilated post training examination. The first time pass rate is more then 95%.
Tony Seddon, Saema’s Company Secretary, said: “We created this unique education and examination platform as a prelude to onsite training so that operatives have a detailed, theoretical understanding of what to expect before their practical/hands-on experience begins.
“This enables people to learn about how temporary and permanent access systems work and how to use them safely before they go into a live and operational environment. It is designed to reduce the risk of injury as well as giving a more in-depth introduction to our world of work.
“We have created online resources that demonstrate activities in the most straightforward way possible. We are firmly of the view that people working at height across the UK should have access to high-quality, subject-specific and quality-assured resources, so that participates can learn safely and effectively. Our resource centre is home to a range of visually appealing videos – packed full of industry-leading practice and inspiration to enhance the learning experience.”
