Mrs Buckét reaches Disability Confident Committed status

Leading commercial cleaning company Mrs Buckét has been awarded Disability Confident Committed status after it pledged to take action to improve how it recruits, retains and develops disabled people.

The Disability Confident scheme supports employers to make the most of the talents disabled people can bring to the workplace and aims to challenge attitudes and increase understanding of disability. The scheme also helps employers remove barriers to disabled people and those with long-term health conditions, allowing them to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.

To be recognised as Disability Confident Committed, Mrs Buckét had to go through a rigorous process to demonstrate how it already does or will commit to: inclusive and accessible recruitment; offering an interview to disabled people; providing reasonable adjustments; supporting existing employees; and how it communicates vacancies to disabled people.

The award-winning cleaning company, which employs over 330 people across south Wales and south-west England, joins over 20,000 other UK businesses who have pledged their commitment to becoming Disability Confident, including ALDI, JD Sports, Costa Coffee and DHL.

Kate Ablett, Head of People at Mrs Buckét, said: “Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion is incredibly important to us and is something we’ve been championing for many years now.

“We’re proud of our diverse workforce but are very aware that there is always more we could be doing, which is why we’re delighted to receive our Disability Confident registration.

“We know just how much value disabled people can bring to the workforce and are committed to making those changes and removing barriers to allow them to thrive at Mrs Buckét.”
