Gold for sustainability award presented

Corporate office FM specialist Anabas has been awarded a gold medal by EcoVadis, a global sustainability accreditor.

This accreditation places the company in the 91st percentile globally for its sustainability ratings. EcoVadis is an online measuring tool for a company’s sustainability performance. It allows companies to assess the ESG performance of their global suppliers, and considers a range of sustainability issues, which are grouped into four themes: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

The platform is used by more than 90,000 companies across 200 industries in more than 160 countries. This recognition is the result of a UK-wide effort by the FM provider to achieve exceptional levels of corporate responsibility and sustainability across its national operations.

The boutique FM provider has been leading efforts to address environmental and social issues in its FM delivery by engaging its Sustainable Green Team to find innovative operations solutions. This has included various environmental activities through effective waste management and recycling initiatives, and the implementation of IoT tech that provide energy-saving initiatives and real-time insight to key sustainability metrics like energy use, temperatures and air quality.

It is committed to fulfilling corporate social responsibility within its supply chain to ensure procurement of materials and specialist services through socially responsible supply chains.

Anabas managing director Alistair Craig said: “It is a great honour to be recognised by EcoVadis and receive a gold award for the work we do at Anabas. We have been working extremely hard over the last year to improve our sustainability offering within our business to better support our clients and the planet. This gold medal is fantastic recognition of the hard work that has gone on behind the scenes by the team.

“It is important for all businesses to recognise the impact they have on the environment and take responsibility for it. By working with EcoVadis, we have been able to accurately track our own impact and find new ways to reduce effects.”
