Design, build, and commissioning have now been completed at the LONDON8 data centre, delivered by Bouygues Energies & Services, a member of Equans group, to VIRTUS Data Centres.
The LONDON8 data centre offers high quality solutions, compromises of over 7,200m2 of technical IT data space, and delivers 18MW of IT load.
The ‘Intelligent by design, build and commissioning’ is Bouygues Energies & Services strategy to deliver quality, speed, and scalability. And so, at the LONDON8 facility, they deployed off-site prefabrication techniques for electrical services – HV/LV plant room and mechanical services – water treatment and chilled water pipework. They have meticulously planned various work stages to enhance the phased handover keeping the segregation secure between the live site and CDM. These strategies result in shorter built times, minimising risk, and improved quality.
Featuring green characteristics, they installed the sustainable hybrid hydronic wall dressing on the exterior facade and dual socket EV charging poles.
LONDON8 is the fourth data centre at the VIRTUS Stockley Park Campus. The latest addition made the campus park unique, as it is one of largest data centre campuses in Europe, providing 80MW of IT load over 37,000NTM. Bouygues Energies & Services designed and built all four data centre facilities on the campus.
Chris Mosley, Operational Director, Bouygues Energies & Services Contracting, commented:
“It is excellent to bring this final jigsaw piece of the Stockley Park Campus to life after 5 years working on this hyperscale campus in collaboration with our supply chain partners. I am incredibly proud of our team and what they have achieved in collaboration with the VIRTUS team. The completed project showcases our ability to deliver the data centre to high-quality standard and speed to the market.”
