Chela Ltd, a UK-based specialist manufacturer of cleaning chemicals, has been awarded a Silver Award at the Green World Awards 2026, in partnership with CrossCountry Trains. The award was presented in the Transport, Freight & Highways sector for Environmental Best Practice.
The announcement comes on World Environment Day 2026, the United Nations’ principal vehicle for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment, observed annually on 5th June, a fitting moment to highlight the growing role that sustainable chemistry is playing in helping organisations across the facilities management sector reduce their environmental impact.
The Green World Awards are widely regarded as the largest environmental awards campaign on Earth. Celebrating outstanding environmental achievements on a global scale, the awards recognise and reward organisations making a significant contribution to sustainability, setting an international benchmark for best practice in protecting and preserving the planet.
The presentation took place at Cardiff Castle in April 2026, where Derek Smith of Chela Ltd and Paul Crowley of CrossCountry Trains were joined by Helena Hall, UK and Scandinavia Sales Director of TCI, the company awarded Champion of Champions at last year’s Green World Awards.
