Tilbury Douglas announces a series of senior promotions

Tilbury Douglas has announced a series of internal promotions, which include the appointment of Craig Tatton as Chief Operating Officer.

With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, over 15 of them operating at board level, Craig has a proven track record in a range of core sectors. Prior to joining Tilbury Douglas, Craig was Chief Operating Officer for Bouygues UK, and previously held senior roles at Willmott Dixon, ISG, Miller and Laing.

To support this change, Tilbury Douglas has made three internal appointments into the new role of Regional Building Managing Directors, reporting into Craig. These are John Gittins, Managing Director – Building North, Simon Butler, Managing Director – Building Central, and Richard Boeg, Managing Director – Building South.

In addition, Phil Shaw has been appointed onto the Senior Leadership Team in recognition of his wider role, in which he will be leading a number of business initiatives, reporting to Craig. Ross Mather, Managing Director – Tilbury Douglas Engineering, and Paul Thain, Head of Infrastructure, will also continue to report to Craig.

In total, all colleagues promoted have between them more than 80 years of service at Tilbury Douglas.

Paul Gandy, CEO at Tilbury Douglas, said: “As Managing Director of UK Building for five years, Craig brings his extensive knowledge of both the business and industry to this new position. In his role, Craig will lead increases in productivity and efficiencies across the business, as well as a focus on continued customer satisfaction.”

“Having now started our next chapter as a standalone major contractor, we are in a strong position with our return to profitability and strong order book,” added Gandy.
