Darenth Valley Building Services Announces Gerry Goonan as Managing Director

Darenth Valley Building Services is delighted to announce that Gerry Goonan has been appointed as Managing Director with immediate effect.

Gerry, already Managing Director for sister company D Hammond Ltd is now responsible for the performance and direction of both businesses with this promotion.

Gerry joined D Hammond in 2015 as Commercial Manager, took on the role of Contracts Director in 2019 and was promoted to Managing Director of D Hammond in November last year having demonstrated his dedication to developing client relationships and ensuring projects meet their expectations. Gerry will now bring these priorities and his considerable experience to developing both businesses.

Gerry is taking over the role of Managing Director of Darenth Valley from James Lovell, who will remain as Chairman of the D Hammond Group.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Gerry’s calibre and experience, who can step up to managing both companies in the D Hammond Group.” said James, “Although the companies operate in different sectors of the market – D Hammond in refurbishment projects and Darenth Valley in facilities maintenance – there are client overlaps and synergies between the two, not least in terms of commitment to sustainability. Having Gerry working across both companies will enable us to take advantage of synergies and offer the best possible single-source solution.”

Gerry said, “D Hammond and Darenth Valley Building Services deliver high-quality services and innovative solutions to a portfolio of quality clients, and it is a privilege to be given the opportunity to lead them both. I am sure there will be challenges but both companies are well established and respected with a broad network of trusted clients and suppliers, and I am certain that we can rise to the challenges and the opportunities the future holds.”
