Register for first in series of BCIA ‘YEN Talks’

The first in a new quarterly series of BCIA Young Engineers Network (YEN) events is being held on Wednesday 17th April 2024 at E.ON Control Solutions in Unsworth, Bury (Greater Manchester).

‘YEN Talks’ are informal learning events led by experienced industry leaders to share their knowledge with young engineers. They have been designed to get young engineers talking and will cover a topic where everyone can learn, share ideas, ask questions and generally do a deep-dive approach into a particular subject.

This first event will focus on ‘BMS Controls Operation and Commissioning Principles’ and will be led by Jason Stirzaker, Technical Director at Open Controls. Jason will take attendees through a bitesize overview and will discuss:

•            Modbus/Bacnet networks to Third Party equipment

•            AHU Operation

•            Duty/Standby Changeover Theory

•            Variable Temperature and weather Compensation

•            3 Stage Frost Protection

The format will be roundtable in nature enabling lots of discussion, questions and solving challenges being faced by young engineers in the industry. These events actively encourage the sharing of best practice so that attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of the subject and know where to go to for more advice or additional reading.

There will also be plenty of time for a general BEMS Q&A, covering any topic. Get your questions ready or submit them in advance. Jason is happy to answer any question posed.

The main event will run from 2.30pm – 5.30pm followed by an hour or so of social time over pizza and drinks.
