The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) has ranked #2 Best Not for Profit organisation to work for in the UK at the Best Companies awards.
The listings are based on employees’ honest opinions of their workplace. The Best Companies annual survey gives colleagues an opportunity to share their thoughts and feedback about the organisation, helping employers to understand what is working well or could be improved.
The NHSBSA also placed #6 on the UK’s 25 Best Big Companies to Work For list, up from #11 last year.
Michael Brodie, Chief Executive at the NHS Business Services Authority and shortlisted nominee for the Best Companies Special Award for Best Leader, said: “I am incredibly proud that the NHSBSA has been recognised as both one of the best not-for-profit organisations and big companies to work for in the UK.
“We place our people at the heart of our organisation. Our colleagues are talented and dedicated, they care about each other and delivering the best service for customers, the wider NHS and the taxpayer. The NHSBSA has a culture where people are encouraged to give and be their best, and our recognition at the Best Companies awards reflects that.”
The organisation was also shortlisted for the Giving Something Back award, which recognises companies that support their local and wider communities and actively seek to reduce their impact on the environment.
Colleagues across the NHSBSA are encouraged to use volunteering time in the community and work together to be sustainable at work, and this achievement highlights the NHSBSA’s dedication to achieving its strategic goal of ‘minimising environmental impact and maximising social impact’. Colleagues across the organisation volunteer in a variety of ways, from fostering guide dogs, partaking in beach clean-ups, and helping decorate properties for a homeless charity.
The NHSBSA has also been listed for excelling in four regional categories:
· Regional list for the North East – Placed #13
· Regional list for Yorkshire and the Humber – Placed #26
· Regional list for the South East – Placed #39
· Regional list for the North West – Placed #70
