Supporting Future Talent: Vertas Group Helps Build Confidence With Mock Interviews

This February, Vertas Group hosted a Mock Interview Day with Year 10 students, helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the workplace.

The day provided many Year 10s with their first real interview experience. Students had the opportunity to practice communication skills, receive constructive feedback, and gain a better understanding of employer expectations.

For many, this first-time interview experience was a valuable opportunity in their career development. Vertas Group’s Talent Attraction Advisor, Megan Brewer, conducted the interviews in a professional setting, providing a safe space for the young people to practice and refine interview skills.

By stimulating a real interview environment, the session was designed to help students feel more prepared for future job applications and opportunities. Beyond offering feedback, this opportunity provided valuable industry insights, helping students understand what employers are looking for in candidates.

Megan Brewer, Talent Attraction Advisor, said: “It was a pleasure to work with Felixstowe School and support the Year 10 students at this key stage of their education. We’re pleased to help bridge the gap between education and employment.”

Charlie Close, Learning & Development Business Partner, said: “Vertas Group remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of talent, ensuring young people have the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to succeed in their future careers. Events like these, and the relationships built with schools and colleges, strengthen the Group’s ability to develop the future workforce, reinforcing partnership as a core value of the business.”
